TEKS focused curriculum classes
(Available year round except during Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Holidays)

Zoo Education staff and volunteers present 45 minute, TEKS-focused, curriculum-based programs onsite at the zoo or offsite at your school. Classes are available by request using the online reservation form available at www.elpasozoo.org. All classes are fun, interactive learning experiences with opportunities for encounters with our education animals and animal biofacts. Classes include programs designed for a wide variety of groups including students coming on field trips, scout groups and religious groups. Reserve your date at least three weeks in advance, although the Zoo will arrange for these programs on short notice when scheduling permits and resources are available. View the list below to see the many program options. If you do not see the program you want, or are working on a specific content area in your classroom, contact the Zoo Adventure Education Specialist, Rose Janice at janicera@elpasotexas.gov
or (915) 521-1894 to discuss more options.

For most programs students will get an up close look at some of our educational animals and biofacts. Animals in our education collection include reptiles (snakes, tortoises and other reptiles), birds (parrots), invertebrates (venomous and non venomous) and mammals (chinchilla, hedgehog, ferret and other mammals). For animal safety reasons we cannot guarantee any individual animal or class of animals. Please note that like people, animals sometimes have a bad day or are sick and on these days some animals may not be available. There may be an option for participants to touch an educational animal depending on group size and age.
