Scheduled Programs

Zoo Adventure Programs open up a whole new world of wonder and excitement. Enhance your zoo adventure with special animal programs, hands on activities and an inside look at the El Paso Zoo! Teacher's Workshops at the El Paso Zoo

All workshops are designed to meet the needs of K-12 teachers in many areas of science. Topics meet the TEKS and STARR curriculum for K-12 in conservation, animal adaptations, ecology, biodiversity, classification, and more. Earn CPE credits at the zoo!

Chihuahuan Desert workshops are designed to help you appreciate and increase your awareness of our desert and to teach basic knowledge of the animals that live in our backyard. You will understand how these animals are adapted to the desert and become empowered to help with conservation efforts. Join us for one or all of our workshops and you will be guaranteed a remarkable, learning, awe inspiring experience.

The minimum number group size is 20; the maximum group size is 30. $10 per person.

Important Notes: Tour experiences may vary. Participants must abide by staff instructions at all times and stay with the group leader. The Zoo strives for full and equal participation of all visitors and continually upgrades facilities to make them more accessible.

Monthly Programs at the El Paso Zoo

Sleepover Adventures
6pm-8am
(Ages 7 on up)
Have you ever wondered what happens to the animals when everyone has gone for the day and the Zoo is closed? Find out! Bring your pillow, toothbrush, sleeping bag and spend the night at the zoo! The Sleepover Adventures run from 6pm to 8am.

Sleepovers include evening and early morning guided tours, live animal presentations, nighttime visits to see some of our animals (not all are available), animal related activities, become a scientist with radio telemetry and camera traps, campfire (when available) and a story. Light evening and morning snacks are included. Comfy camp cots are provided in a temperature controlled building. Bathrooms are located in same building or close by but no shower facilities.

Zoo Toddler Treks
9am to 10am
(ages 3-4 years old)

You and your 3 or 4 year-old can spend a beautiful morning walking and learning about Earth's animals with an Education Specialist leading an amazing one hour tour. Your child will have a fun opportunity to see educational animals up close, feed the birds and a walk through part of the Zoo.

Minimum Group Size 10 adults and 10 children.

Registration - $20 for one adult and one child, $10 each additional child or adult. Online Registration Required. Make sure to fill in appropriate date on registration form.

A Career Adventure
Ages: Middle and High School Students. The minimum age for the program is 12 years old.
8:30-10am
Only 20 spots available.
Registration -$15 per person.
El Paso Zoological Society Members $13.50.
