VISITORS CAN "BUG OUT" AT THE EL PASO ZOO AUG. 4 -5 DURING BUG AWARENESS WEEKEND

Activities to Include Live Bug Display, Kids Activities, Bug Cooking Demonstration

The El Paso Zoo's 11th Annual Bug Awareness Weekend is back! Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a bug's life with live bug displays in the Zoo's El Paso Water Utilities Discovery Center. Visitors will see bugs up close and learn about bugs in their own backyard. There will be activities for the whole family including a bug cooking demonstration and tasting, animal encounters and more.

"Last year's bug cooking demonstration was a hit! Zoo visitors truly enjoyed the tasty bugs; some kids even ate live bugs. We'll have treats such as Roasted Leaf Cutter Ants, Cricket Chip Cookies, Thai Grasshopper Stir Fry, Cinnamon Wax Worm Crunch, and Sweet Cricket Popcorn, for visitors to try this year, if they dare!,"
said Executive Chef Miguel Guillen, Culinary Director at Service Systems Associates.
