Party for the Planet

Come celebrate our amazing planet at the El Paso Zoo! We will have several opportunities for you to see how the El Paso Zoo party's animal style, all while learning how you can help to protect all life on Earth. This is the 9th year the El Paso Zoo has been a part of the largest combined Earth Day event in North America.

The festivities include:

Airborne Adventure inflatable
Local conservation organizations
Special animal programs!

Elephant Festival
Saturday and Sunday, June 7-8, 2014
10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Elephant Festival is 8,000 pounds of fun! Try to out eat our resident local celebrities, Juno and Savannah during the Elephant Breakfast or schmooze with the elephant keepers as they bathe and groom the girls. Also, find out how you can help the El Paso Zoo to guard these magnificent animals.

Bug Awareness
Saturday and Sunday, August 2-3, 2014

You may think the only thing you have in common with a bug is the fact we're both animals. But, without bugs we wouldn't have so many things we enjoy, like fruits, coffee, or CHOCOLATE!! Come see some of the coolest bugs from across the planet and learn how they enrich our lives.

Boo at the Zoo
Saturday and Sunday, October 25-26, 2014
10 a.m.to 3 p.m.

The El Paso Zoo presents Boo at the Zoo, El Paso's wildest trick-or-treat in town. This family-friendly event provides a safe environment to have some ZOO-rrific fun. Guests will be able to watch as zoo animals get their own pumpkins to celebrate and squish before eating them. Activities and candy stations are provided at no cost with paid admission.

Education Programs

Scheduled Animal Encounters and Training Programs are listed in the zoo map insert. Sea Lion presentations are cancelled until further notice. Daily Programs include Galapagos Tortoise Training (10:30am), Asian Elephant Training (noon) and Ocelot Training (2:30pm). Other Animal Encounters are scheduled at various times and days during the week including Raptor presentations with either a Golden Eagle or Harris Hawk, Lion Training programs and Giraffe Encounters. Giraffe Encounters where you get to feed a giraffe are at 11:00am and 2:30pm and require a $2 token available just outside the Kalahari Research Station. These encounters plus Lion Training presentations at 11:45am are scheduled Saturday and Sundays. From June 4 to through Labor Day, Giraffe Encounters and Lion Training Programs are scheduled Wednesdays to Sundays. Check your map insert when you arrive for times and locations. Because our exhibits are always changing some animals may not be on exhibit when you come to the Zoo. All presentations are subject to cancellation without notice.
